Dawn’s talents are limitless and display a collective growing resume of period costume, specialty custom design and building of garments, from fantasy to modern contemporary.
Based in Los Angeles, her approach to costume design and the transformation of a character is drawn from her early days. Dawn was born into the arts, competing as a gymnast and dancer and whilst shooting a music video for one of her band’s she realized all her attention was on the costume’s design, look and mood.
This catalysed her journey into the world of fabrics, textures and accessories coupled with an endless curiosity into the world of the human psyche, metamorphosis and transformation across artistic mediums. Her process is a deep introspection into the mood of the film, characters and emotions portrayed alongside the arcs of transformation and symbolism.
Her palettes are the costumes across the canvas of human spirit as from the fabric makers to the tailors and the family we build on this journey- I don’t just put clothes on people, I dream of inventions. My fire is the music, the fuel to my hands that create the passion in my heart who sings to my creative thoughts that are born into reality. As the costume comes to life, I can feel it in my soul and truly smile.
